PRESIDENT & SUNY TRUSTEE
Alexander Ruiz is a Senior at State University College at Geneseo, where he studies Political Science, focusing on Ethics and Values in Society.
Ruiz, a son of the Bronx, had the pleasure of serving the Student Association as President on his home campus of Geneseo. In lieu of his commitment to empowering spaces for marginalized students, Ruiz designed and financially invested (through the Student Association) in Geneseo's Multicultural Center and PRIDE lounge during his tenure. He is currently the Resident Assistant of Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement for the Geneseo Residence Life Office, in which he creates programming within the campus community to develop dialogue around diversity and inclusion. Within the development of programs, Alexander facilitates campus-wide Diversity-Inclusion Dialogue training for groups on campus. He is also Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) Scholar, for which he has devoted 8 years to the academic development program.
Jae Fish is a proud alumni of both Hudson Valley Community College and SUNY Polytechnic Institute. He is currently pursuing his master's degree in Public Administration at the University at Albany (UAlbany). His commitment to leadership is evident through his previous roles as the Undergraduate Representative for Doctoral Granting Institutions (DGI) and Caucus Chair for SUNY SA in addition to his two-year tenure as Student Government President at SUNY Poly.
Jalen Miller is from Queens, New York, and is currently in his Senior year at the University at Albany studying Political Science, Philosophy, and Judaic Studies. Throughout his college career, Jalen has been involved heavily in student advocacy and Democratic politics, serving in many leadership positions, most notably as one of the youngest elected presidents of College Democrats of America, the official student arm of the Democratic National Committee. Jalen has been a prominent voice at the university, state, and national levels for student rights and shared governance in hopes of uplifting the voices of those who are unheard. In his last year, it is his hope to leave the Student Assembly more connected to its members, louder on the issues that impact students, and the leading college organization in New York State.
