EXECUTIVE BOARD
PRESIDENT & SUNY TRUSTEE
LUCA RALLIS

Luca O. Rallis is a Trustee of the State University of New York and President of the SUNY Student Assembly (SUNY SA), representing 1.4 million students across 64 campuses.
Prior to serving as President, Rallis was SUNY SA's Executive Director of Policy and Government Relations. In this role, he led the development and execution of their annual policy agenda, advocating for student priorities through policy research, strategic relationship-building, targeted advocacy campaigns, and coalition partnerships. He organized and led student delegations to meet with state legislators and executive branch officials, communicating student perspectives on critical issues such as cost of attendance, capital funding, and access to support services.
Before joining SUNY, Rallis was active in shared governance at Stony Brook University. He served two terms in the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) Senate before joining USG's Office of University Affairs. Rallis was also a member of the University Senate Executive Committee, the Board of Directors of the campus's auxiliary services corporation, and a number of other campus governance organizations. In these roles, he oversaw multimillion-dollar budgets, spearheaded advocacy initiatives, and partnered with university administration to enhance campus life for more than 17,500 undergraduates. He is widely recognized for co-authoring a transformative course retake policy at Stony Brook, a change lauded by university leadership as a model for shared governance and student engagement.
Born and raised on Long Island, NY, Rallis is an undergraduate student at Stony Brook University pursuing a Bachelor's in Political Science.
Rallis continues to champion student voices and strengthen the partnership between students and University leadership across the SUNY system.
