Hello there! I’m Nicole Ortiz and I serve as the Social Media Manager for SUNY Student Assembly. I am from a small town in Wester, NY called Dunkirk, NY. In May of 2020 I received my Associates Degree from Genesee Community College for studies in Fashion Design with a concentration in Fashion Business. During my time at GCC I served as Student Government Association President as well as Public Relations Manager. I was also given the opportunity to serve as President and PR Manager for several other clubs on campus such as WOKE and Campus Activities Board. I am now a Transfer Junior at SUNY Cortland, I plan to receive my Bachelors Degree in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and Advertising. I fully intend to make the most of my time at SUNY Cortland. I’ve been a part of SUNY SA’s Executive Committee since January of 2020 and have had the pleasure of working vigilantly on the Social Media platforms for SUNY SA. Being a student leader is much more than a resume builder for some, it’s a commitment to those around us that we will in fact advocate for you and your rights as a SUNY Student.
I must fight with all my strength so that the little positive things that my health allows me to do might be pointed toward helping the revolution. The only real reason for living.
